Salzkammerweg Trail

A trail like no other: leading around Hohe Sarstein mountain, which towers between the Ausseerland area and the Central Salzkammergut area.

The Salzkammergut trail leads not only through a fantastic landscape but also passes numerous spots that are steeped in history. Step by step you hike through past centuries and millenniums – from one interesting highlight to the next.

This informative and varied loop trail is perfect for the whole family and can be conquered in about three days. You can also hike it in stages and use train, bus or boat for some sections. Most of the route follows shady forestry trails and good hiking paths.
