Tauplitzalm High Plateau

Crystal-clear brooks, fairytale-like mountain lakes, green pastures in bloom, adventurous caves and rocks, more than 170km of well-marked hiking trails and an active hiking association – this is the way the village of Tauplitz and the sunny Tauplitzalm high plateau present themselves to their guests. Idyllically embedded between Grimming Mountain, Dachstein Mountain Range and Tote Gebirge Mountain range. The 6-Lakes-Loop-Trail at the high plateau is especially rewarding. Colourful in spring time thanks to gentians and daffodils, in July thanks to the alpine roses and in fall time thanks to the colourful larch wood. The half-day or full-day tour (short or long lake hike) offer highlight after highlight at an altitude of approx. 1,600m. You can get to Tauplitzalm pasture by taking the 4-seater chairlift or the panorama road.
