Loser Geo Adventure Trail

This theme trail on the Loser plateau gives an informative insight into the landscape, geology and emergence of the Salzkammergut area.

Here visitors can experience the breath-taking, high-alpine landscape of the Northern Limestone Alps, which can be easily accessed by the Loser panorama road.

A leaflet on the Loser Geo Adventure Trail tells in a comprehensible form (25 stations) of the different forms of alpine karst and of how ice age shaped the area. Also presented are basic geologic conditions that shaped the Salzkammergut area.

Walking time: approx. 2 hours (sitting facilities at each station)
Altitude information: starting point: 1,600m; highest spot: 1,700m

The trail is easy to get to and well groomed; still don’t forget that you move in high-alpine terrain! It is recommended to wear sturdy boots and weather-proof clothes (rain gear)!
