Koppental Hiking Trail

The trail through wilderness

Between Bad Aussee and Koppenwinkel/Obertraun is a 9km-long hiking trail that leads through the narrow and wild-romantic Koppental valley. Along the trail are several marked adventure stations, where one can learn interesting facts on the landscape’s pecularities, ancient tracks or the daring train line dating back to the 19th century. A suspension bridge across wild Koppentraun river, the avalanche passages from mighty Hohen Sarstein mountain (1,975m), an old train tunnel and the aquiferous Koppenbrüller stalactite cave are the highlights of the trail.
