Bad Aussee - Hallstatt - Bad Ischl

Starting point: Bad Aussee post office

From the post office you ride in direction Bad Aussee train station. Pass the train station and continue on the narrow road via Koppenpass in direction Obertraun.
Watch out: up to 26° gradient on the downhill ride – cobblestone pavement!

In Obertraun you take a left turn in direction Hallstatt. Cycle along the lake to the beautiful village of Hallstatt and continue to the village of Steeg at the end of the lake.

In Steeg you take a left turn just before the train station and follow Traun river in direction Bad Ischl (Salzkammergut cycling trail – approx. 16km). In Laufen you continue along the left shore of Traun river in direction Katrin lift. Take a right turn in direction Bad Ischl.

You can either cycle the same route back or choose another option across Pötschenpass. You can also take the train back to Bad Aussee.
